Ron Embry is a highly experienced patent attorney and chemical engineer with a career spanning more than three decades across the legal and engineering industries. He has served as a Partner at Hauptman Ham, LLP since 2018 and has practiced patent law since 2007.

Before entering the legal profession, Mr. Embry spent 20 years as an engineer at ExxonMobil Chemical Co., gaining firsthand knowledge in complex industrial processes and technologies. This technical foundation continues to inform his legal practice, allowing him to provide strategic, technically sound guidance to clients navigating patent law.

Mr. Embry’s practice focuses on patent preparation, prosecution, and appeals before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He also manages global patent prosecution and advises clients on invalidity and non-infringement opinions, IP-related agreements, and portfolio strategy.

His technical expertise encompasses areas such as semiconductor and display manufacturing, solar panels, cryogenics, biofuels and renewable energy, polymers and catalysts, oil and gas, and chemical processes.
